Every time I read one of your posts, at least one phrase sticks with me for a few days. This time it's Kareem's question, "how do we know we're brainwashed if we're brainwashed?" Perfect question.
I've washed and rinsed repeated for three days - brain not hair - as I have little (just enough?) of the former and none of the latter.
We are, as you well know, much more than our neurology. A root element of AH is the recognition that we are much more than static characters (life forms) with a set brain. WE are protean actors with plastic brains.
The actor playing the brainwashed actor can see, when alert, the brainwashing process in process. Human Actors practice to nurture alertness to conditioning circumstances and conditioned reactions, the accumulation of which amounts to brain washing. When we see a washed brain we let it go.
II never knew that side of Kareem Abdul- Jabbar.. Then again basketball was not very popular growing up in my "hockey hotbed" , Canada.. How things have changed.. I am changing too.. Every word I read in Acting Human.. Is a delight.. Finally I find such familiar theories, statements, and affirmations that put a peaceful, reassuring glow into my heart and soul. Fear has terrible implications, as does guilt..Forgiveness is such a blessing when it is offered or extended. Acting Human has given me renewed strength.. To be me.. To accept myself .. To be more joyful and grateful.. In my recent book, Stories For Souls of All Ages An A-Z Spiritual Journey.. My final story is about a Zebra, who believed in himself against huge odds and setbacks..his carefree spirit and imagination kept him happy.. And finally he was appreciated for exactly who he was.. Acting Human encourages us to break down those barriers.. Richard Dubin.. Your Acting Human is a gift, and I am so grateful to have the pleasure and the love, of reading it, absorbing it and loving it. Much gratitude, Thank you 🙏💕
“The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others" – Albert Schweitzer
Amen. Schweitzer did all that AND played Bach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2lRwGXkr3A

What a beautiful comment, H.R.S. I agree. Richard's margins and wisdom sharing makes me "acting" as if I were a better version of human!
Thanks Connie.. It's so much fun to look forward to every Sunday.. For our "Fix" of Acting Human.. It's a life -changer 👌😍
Totally agree. Richard's writing skills, as well as his wisdom are a weekly treat.
Thank you, as always. It's a boon to feel you along for the ride. Delighted to see you in conversation with Connie :)
