Holographic Universe
No Rest For The Dead
The Elvis Experience. Tickets available. May 7 in Cardiff, UK.
Hurry! Hurry! Get ‘em while you can. They’re selling like Qualudes in 1972.
Though Elvis died in 1977, the magic of holographic photography keeps him on the road, playing big rooms to sellout crowds. While the tickets are costly, this use of Holographic magic is a ‘cheap trick.’
Our Holographic Universe
David Bohm, an esteemed and storied theoretical physicist, driven by scientific and mystical curiosity, delved into the nature of so-called reality.
In the course of his explorations he introduced the ideas of Implicate and Explicate order.
A simple demonstration of which involves two rotating cylinders with a narrow space between them. The outer cylinder is transparent so we can see what happens in the space between the cylinders.
Into the narrow space we place a glop of glycerine infused with a droplet of ink. The substance is first rotated between the cylinders slowly. We see the ink diffuse; it appears as a thread. With continued rotation the ink becomes invisible.
Did the ink disappear?
When we rotate the substance in the opposite direction, slowly the droplet reforms. It reappears.
Actually, it never went anywhere. It, in a different order, simply appeared differently. Invisible.
According to Bohm the pattern of ink, when seen clearly in the ink glop is in explicate order.
We see it explicitly.
And when it ‘disappears’ unto invisibility, the ink glop, now unseen, though entirely there within the substance, is in implicate order.
Things are rarely as they appear, although, as Woody Allen says, “we are what we eat.” If you look closely at me you’ll see a milkshake.
Implicate Order
To Bohm the implicate order is ‘enfolded’ at a more fundamental level of reality in which space and time are not dominant factors. Rather the connection between elements occurs on a deeper level.
When we experience in ordinary ways, i.e., as material subjects and objects separated in space and time, we function at the explicate level exclusively, without conscious connection to implicate source.
As we learn to experience explicate phenomena as emergent from implicate order; feel ourselves arising from a deeper more inclusive level we expand our lives in every way.
Explicate Order
Bohm also saw the explicate order as ‘unfolded.’ When explicate or unfolded we experience a world of physical objects and observable events.
We see familiar reality in explicate order. What we see is what we get. As we see it over and over again, we develop beliefs about the nature of reality. Those beliefs limit our vision. We lose our sense of the whole.
Bohm And The Holographic Universe
Bohm offers the proposition that ‘empty space’ contains the entirety of everything. Pure information.
Implicate and explicate orders alternate, they enfold and unfold in continuous motion.
Bohm challenges our conventional view of reality. His emphasis on process rather than subject/object vision penetrates the mystery of life.
He gives us a framework in which we can live life alive. Bohm shows us how to flow with energy that arises prior to conditioned thoughts and concepts.
Holistic Acting
The motion of alternating orders, I suggest, we feel as vibrational energy. It energizes all life. Persistent changes at varying levels. Musical patterns.
“Music is a system of harmonic relationships inherent within the quantized fractal structure of the cosmos.” ~Marshall Lefferts
All energy connects and plays in relationship so that any seemingly individual element reveals the entire universe.
We live in undivided wholeness. ACTING HUMAN taps into unity when we practice remembering that every seemingly individual action reveals infinite and bi-directional connections.
We can transcend limited ego/self to align with deep order to allow creativity beyond personal limitations.
At the level of implicate order, time and space dissolve, we serve as conduits for universal energy. We live in flow states.
We live vibrational lives tuned to Universal music.
Suler’s realization of the spiritual value of acting, as he came to see it in his work with the Moscow Art Theater, enhances our lives as HUMAN ACTORS in daily life.
We, in our humanity, express effortlessly the actor that plays the the actor that plays the human we ordinarily think of as our self.
We, with practice learn to discern self and SELF; the distinction between ordinary/conditioned and Universal.
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” ~Rumi
When we enfold and unfold, to fully embrace the interplay of implicate and explicate, we orient our lives toward greater awareness and intentionality.
We cultivate a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness that underlies all experience.
As we hone ACTING HUMAN craft, we learn to draw on the implicate order of the Universe to play with skill and infinite orientation in our daily lives. We manifest our practice in the explicate order of our daily lives. We live life alive.
Our sense of wonder and appreciation for the complexity and interconnectedness of all experience expands.
As we embrace this perspective, we live our lives with greater intention, empathy, and creativity, playfully unfolding and enfolding implicate and explicate order. An infinite game.
We move toward sanity and humanity.
We bring all of our lives to life.
Until next time,
Lights Up!

I'm for Holographs if they capture my "better side". I'm ready for my close up Mr. DeMille.
